About

The Namibia Dental Association (NDA) is an association were dental professionals (dentist and dental auxiliaries) can join on a voluntary basis, once they qualified in their respective fields.

Some of the objectives of the NDA:

  • To promote the dental and oral health of all Namibians and to contribute towards providing the  people of Namibia with healthy and beautiful smiles

  • To promote the honorable rendering of dental services and to discourage malpractice

  • To assist and enable our members to provide the public with the dental treatment they deserve

To achieve these objectives the Namibia Dental Association and its members consider the following as important:

Restoring and enhancing  of smiles
We promote the restoring and enhancing of the natural beauty of patients’ dentition. We believe in using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures and techniques that will result in beautiful, long lasting smiles!

Prevention  of Dental Disease & Education of our Patients
We believe that prevention is better than cure. We are convinced that preventative dental care and education of our patients are the keys to optimal dental health. We promote regular dental examinations,  routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride as these are all helpful in preventing dental disease.

High Standards of Dental Care
The association advocates a standard of excellence in personalized dental care that enables our members  to provide the quality dental services their patients deserve. We support comprehensive treatment planning and use of restorative and cosmetic dentistry to achieve optimal dental health.

Safety in the Dental Surgery
The association advises  strict infection control in our members’ offices. To protect patients and dental personnel alike, we advise the strict maintenance of sterilization and cross contamination processes.

Training & Expertise of Dentists and Dental Auxiliaries
To give patients the best possible service and results, the Namibia Dental Association is committed to continual education and learning. We promote the attendance of dental congresses, lectures and meetings so that our members can stay informed of new developments and techniques, the latest products, and the newest equipment that a modern dental office can utilize to provide state-of-the-art dental care.

Total Dental Health Care vs. Dental Disease Care
The NDA promote “dental health care” rather than “dental disease care”. We advise thorough dental examinations that include checking the overall health of patient’s mouth, teeth and gums. We advise the taking of dental x-rays when necessary and assessing  the overall oral health of patients. Not only are our members focused on the beauty of a patient’s smile,         they are also concerned about their patients’ health. The NDA thus advises a thorough review of all patients’ medical history  so that the dentist can stay informed of a patient’s overall health, any medications, and any illnesses that may impact on the patient’s dental health.

Dental Visits must be a Positive Experience
Building a foundation of  trust by treating patients as special individuals is vital to a dentist’s success. The NDA understands how uneasy some patients may feel about visiting a dentist. We urge our members to make a difference in providing a relaxing and positive experience  to their patients. The members of the Namibia Dental Association are dedicated to providing patients with excellent, personalized care and service to make dental visits as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
